We’re thrilled to announce that the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team has chosen Helen & Douglas House as their Official Charity Partner of 2025-2026!

They are hoping to raise an incredible £100,000 by December 2026 – funds that will help us provide vital care and support to local terminally ill children and their families.

A visit to the hospice

The partnership kicked off in a truly special way on Monday 3rd February, when the team visited our hospice. They spent time with our staff, met some of the wonderful families we support, and toured our hospice. A highlight of the day? Seeing the team’s 2024 show car on display – it brought so much joy to the children and their families.

This partnership holds a personal meaning for Chris, a Composite Fitter at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1, who nominated Helen & Douglas House:

“In April 2019, my daughter Penny was born with a rare genetic condition called Ogden syndrome, which affects 1 in 11 million people. Tragically, due to complications with her condition, we lost Penny just six months later. Helen & Douglas House gave my wife and I the opportunity to keep Penny with us until her funeral by providing a Cuddle Cot. This is something that we didn’t know existed until November 2019 but will always be grateful for. The hospice also arranged a counsellor for my wife and the support that Helen & Douglas House provided to our family six years ago – and continue to provide today – is invaluable.”

Imogen Tait’s from the Charity Committee, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team said:

“We are privileged to have worked with some brilliant charities over the years, and we are delighted to add Helen & Douglas House to that list. While we race across the globe, our local community is incredibly important to us, so we are looking forward to bringing the team together to fundraise for our local children’s hospice. One of the first events on our fundraising calendar is the Silverstone 10k in May, where fifty of our colleagues will be running a lap of our home circuit to support those cared for by Helen & Douglas House.”

Sarah Robson from Helen & Douglas House said:

“We are delighted to be chosen by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team as their charity partner for 2025 and 2026. The hospice is a very special place where local families can make the most of their time together, creating happy memories during their children’s short lives. 90% of our funding comes from voluntary donations and this year we need to raise almost £6m to fund the cost of the care for the families we support. This partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team will raise a significant amount of money to help local families which we are very grateful for.”

Chris’s story is a powerful reminder of why our work matters and why this partnership is so meaningful.

We are so grateful for this partnership and look forward to seeing what the incredible team gets up to over the next two years.
