Gaming Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer to support the ICT Team, as well as patients and families, with gaming tasks such as installing and updating the software for new packages and games, as well as other basic IT duties.

Responsibilities

Assist in setting up, configuring, and updating gaming consoles (XBoxes, Playstations, Nintendos), virtual reality equipment, tablets, and other devices as needed.

•  Monitor and manage the Firesticks to ensure proper functioning and restrict certain access areas.

• Provide basic troubleshooting and technical support to children and staff using the gaming equipment and devices.

Time commitment
•  This role can be flexible around your lifestyle, Monday – Friday.

• We ask that you support us for a minimum of 12 hours per week.

• This role is based at Helen & Douglas House, Oxfordshire.

Qualities Required
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure equipment functioning properly and safely.

• Good communication and organisational skills, as well as attention to detail.

• The ability to collaborate with a team, as a supportive team player and able to also work independently.

Experience & Training

• Basic understanding of gaming consoles (Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo), virtual reality equipment, tablets, and other technology devices.

• Familiarity with software updates and installation processes.

• Training will be provided, to ensure you feel confident and fulfilled in this role.
