Ultra Challenge

Do you want to test yourself, get in shape or bond with friends on a weekend adventure? If so, an Ultra Challenge is for you!

Join 35,000 others of all ages and take on an unforgettable challenge in 2025! It will be rewarding, fun and absolutely achievable with your resolve and determination alongside first-class support. There are regular rest stops with free food and drink, a fully signed route, and a great atmosphere.

We’ve picked out our favourites, but you can view the full list of Ultra Challenges here. Remember to select Helen & Douglas House as your charity when you sign up.

Cotswold Way Challenge

21st – 22nd June

The magical Cotswold Way provides a stunning setting for a testing challenge, with some fantastic views en route and tough hills in between! With 50km, 25km and 10km challenge options available, there’s a challenge for everyone.

Gower Peninsula Challenge

19th – 20th July

This is a new Ultra Challenge for 2025, set in the stunning Gower Peninsula – the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and famous for its golden beaches, limestone cliffs, wild moors, ridges, and woodlands. 75kn, 50km, Marathon, 25km, and 10km challenge options.

South Coast Challenge

6th – 7th September

An amazing 100k journey. Starting in Eastbourne, you’ll travel up Beachy Head, along the magnificent Seven Sisters and the South Downs Way. Brighton marks halfway, then Devil’s Dyke lies ahead before historical Arundel comes into view. Half and quarter distance options.

Chiltern 50 Challenge

27th September

This 50km looked route covers some of the Chiltern’s finest countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, and fantastic views. With a 25km and 10km loop available avavailableaiable, there’s a Chiltern Challenge for everyone. 

Threshold Trail Series

When you take on a Threshold Challenge, you’ll receive training plans, first class route support, fully loaded pit stops and an amazing overnight experience. 

To participate in support of Helen & Douglas House, select ‘Enter for charity’ when you sign up an choose the ‘Participating Charity’ option on the registration form. Then select Helen & Douglas House when prompted.

Race to the King

21st June

Take on a challenge fit for royalty in this epic ultramarathon along the South Downs Way and Monarch’s Way. Choose from two unique 50km loops or tackle both in a non-stop 100km challenge.

12th – 13th July

Take on the UK’s biggest ultramarathon along the ancient Ridgeway, racing towards the 5000-year-old Avebury Standing Stones.
