We are indebted yet again to our cast and can never thank them enough for giving their time to make us laugh. Laughter really is the best medicine!

They were:   Jo Brand, Sean Lock, Patrick Kielty, The Comedy Store Players (Lee Simpson, Andy Smart and Richard Vranch), Issy Suttie, Phil Pope, Sean Lyons, Ally Craig, Kevin Eldon, David Armand, Daniel Rigby and Out of the Blue.

Thank you to Jamie Baskeyfield and his team for giving us the New Theatre free of charge plus their bar sales, ice-cream sales and to so many staff who volunteered for the evening.

Thank you to Audi Cars for driving cast members to the show when they had been filming all day.

We now leave it to some of our audience to sum up the show and hope if you are reading this you will join us next year! Lizzie Pickering and Kate Day - Events Managers, Helen & Douglas House.

  • "Oh girls – what a night – I have not laughed so much for YEARS – it was just the BEST night ever!!!  Six of us went from here to Childish Things and it was FABULOUS in every way.  We loved out of the blue, all the comedians but the BESTEST thing was David Armand – BRILLIANT. We will all be there next year – the whole company. CONGRATULATIONS to you both for a huge amount of hard work that was so appreciated.  WELL DONE AND THANK YOU!!!!!”
  • “What an evening!! I was truly overwhelmed! Such talent in one room – it was quite astonishing. I am looking forward to next year with baited breath already.”
  • “Just to say we really enjoyed the show last night. As ever David Armand was great and Jo Brand - she is an absolute legend.  I have to go and see her on stage somewhere now, I just laughed so much”
  • “Thank you so much for such a fantastic show last night.  I thought it was brilliant and the atmosphere in the crowd was great.  I heard more than one person say they thought it was the best one yet!”
  • “I ache this morning from laughing so much. What a fabulous line-up – it just gets better and better. Well done you two and it was lovely to see you both on stage at the end to take a bow. Now have a rest and start organising the next one!”
  • “We laughed and laughed. Esp at Sean Lock, Jo Brand, the Comedy Store guys and the poet [Kevin Eldon]!!”
  • “Hi - my husband and I attended Childish Things 5 last night -  I just wanted to say that we thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate all of the hard work that had obviously gone into producing it.  This is the first time that we have attended anything relating to Helen and Douglas House and it definitely will not be the last. Congratultations and a BIG thank you to all those involved.
  • “Wow!! I know I say it every year, but this time it really was the BEST ever!!”
  • “That was a brilliant show   - let me know the date for next year, the whole crew want to come!!”
  • “It was awesome. Thanks for a great night. Well done! It was the best one I've seen.....   When is the next one? Book that mime artist [David Armand] again! “
