Can I visit Helen & Douglas House and have a look around before applying for a role?
We hold open mornings four time a year and you are welcome to visit during these times.
It may be possible for you to be shown around our buildings if you are attending an interview please ensure this is arranged in advance of your interview date.


I have applied on-line how will I be contacted?
We endeavour to acknowledge all e mail and online applications within 2 days of receipt of your application form. Please ensure that you include your e mail contact within the application. Postal application are not normally acknowledged, should you require an acknowledgement please indicate this within your covering letter.


The closing date has passed and I have not heard anything, what should I do?
It is Helen & Douglas House policy to contact all shortlisted applicants within two weeks of the closing date to arrange an interview. If you have not been successful at the short listing stage you will not be contacted. However if you would like feedback as to why you have been unsuccessful please contact the Recruitment Team - -who will arrange for the appointing officer to provide you with this.


I have been asked to attend an interview, what information should I bring with me?
At your interview we will be asking to see:


Relevant Certificates of qualification


And at least two of the following;

  • Passport
  • Driving License
  • Birth Certificate 
  • Marriage Certificate

We are required to check your eligibility to work within the UK. IF you have any other documentation in relation of your eligibility to work you must bring this to the interview.


In addition we will require proof of address; this may be a bank statement, or utility bill.


You should have received an occupational health form within your invite to interview pack, please ensure you bring the completed form with you to the interview in the sealed envelope provided.


Please note we can only accept original documents as proof of identity. Photocopies will not be accepted!


I have attended an interview, when will I find out if I have been successful?

We will endeavour to inform you of the outcome of the interview process within a week of the interview taking place. You will be informed at interview if this timescale is any different.


If you have been unsuccessful and would like feedback please contact the HR Assistant Laura Jones, who will be able to arrange this for you.

I want to apply for a role, but there is not a current vacancy, should I apply anyway?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept speculative applications for Helen & Douglas House. All of our vacancies are advertised on our website so please keep an eye on our vacancies list for current opportunities.


I want to submit my C.V how do I do this?
Unfortunately we do not accept CV’s by way of application and ask that all applicants complete the application form in full.
