Helen & Douglas House does not normally accept children or young adults using more than one hospice. If it is identified that a person is using more than one hospice, Helen & Douglas House will work with children, young adults, families and those with parental responsibility and the other hospice to identify which facility is to be used.
When a young person is transitioning from a children's hospice to Douglas House, it is recognised that there may be a 6-8 month period when both hospices will be accessed.
