Fundraising through your work

Helen & Douglas House

Does your workplace need a lift? Could you raise funds for a local cause, benefit your organisation and have fun at the same time? Here’s a whole raft of ways you could support us:

  • Company donations – as well as providing a vital boost to our income, company donations clearly demonstrate your organisation’s support for our work.

  • Adopt Helen & Douglas House as your Charity of the Year or longer-term Charity Partner – simply find your charity representative and find out how we can convince them to choose us!

  • Staff fundraising – bring the team together to raise funds through organising in-company activities, events or by taking part as an individual or team in one of our sponsored events, such as runs, parachute jumps or overseas challenges.

  • Sponsorship – sponsoring one of our Care Team members, or one of our events, such as our Big Top Ball in September 2007.

  • Payroll Giving – become part of the future by giving to Helen & Douglas House on a regular basis, as well as giving your tax to us rather than the Inland Revenue through the Gift Aid Scheme. Click here for more information: Payroll Giving

  • Match funding – find out if your company operates a scheme that will match every £1 you raise, instantly doubling your personal contribution and making twice the difference.

  • Cause-related marketing - making a donation for every product or service you sell, helping you to reach new customers, build customer loyalty and differentiate your product or service.

  • Customer fundraising – give away other people’s money by having a collecting tin at the till or by encouraging customers or partners to sponsor your fundraising campaign.

  • Gifts in kind – what does your company do? Is it something that might benefit the Charity, like training, transport or goods we could sell in our shops?

  • Volunteering – does your employer offer an employee volunteering scheme? We are always looking for new volunteers to join our growing voluntary team and have many opportunities, from short-term projects to ongoing work.
    And remember that it’s not all one way traffic! The benefits for your organisation include:
    • increased involvement in your community;
    • heightened public perception of your organisation;
    • increased staff morale;
    • opportunities for staff to build relationships with their colleagues;
    • pride in your place of work.

    National corporate support for children's hospices
    Many local companies choose to support us on a regional level but if you are a national company interested in supporting children's hospices across the UK, why not contact the Association of Children's Hospices as they give you the opportunity to work with a national charity that delivers funds to children’s hospices local to your branches or sites. Helen House belongs to the Association. Simply go to Association of Children's Hospices Corporate Support
