JOIN THE HEROES OF HELEN & DOUGLAS HOUSE!
There are many heroes at Helen & Douglas House: families, staff, supporters - all of them helping children and young adults with life-shortening conditions to get the most out of life, however long that might be.
You might be thinking that you couldn't possibly be one of our heroes because you don't care directly for the children and young people but that's where you're wrong. Without the support of the public we wouldn't have any heroes at Helen & Douglas House.
So how can you be a hero? It's simple really - we need your help whether it's your time, your unwanted goods or your fundraising support.
Helen & Douglas House requires over £4.5 million a year to provide the one-to-one, 24 hour care that is so crucial to the children, young people and families who need our help and we get little funding from the government. It doesn't matter how you give, or how much - every penny makes a difference.
Here are some simple ways of how you could become one of our heroes:
- Make a regular gift each month by Direct Debit by clicking on this link: make a donation
- Persuade your company to adopt us as their official charity - fundraising through your work
- Use www.missionfish.org.uk and donate a percentage of your final sale price when selling goods on eBay - eBay and missionfish
- Join us for the British 10k London Run in July- click here to find out more
- Talk to your payroll department about Give As You Earn - payroll giving
- Think about leaving a legacy to us in your will - leaving a legacy
- Volunteer to work in one of our shops or offer your babysitting services - volunteering
- Donate clothes, books, CDs or other unwanted items to our shops -
- Do an overseas trek or parachute jump (or something else equally silly for us!)
