Remember we always need good quality used goods; particularly clothes, CDs and books. You can also donate furniture - including sofas and upholstered chairs (which must comply with Flammability Regulations) - wardrobes, tables, chairs, book cases and coffee tables etc. Sorry, we cannot accept white goods.

We offer a collection service - call our Warehouse: on 01865 796772, or drop  unwanted goods into your nearest Helen & Douglas House shop. Find your nearest shop.

Gift Aid donated goods! If you a UK tax payer please fill out a Gift Aid declaration form when you donate goods to us. Gift Aid is a Government scheme which allows registered charities in the UK to claim tax back from the Inland Revenue. If  you fill in a declaration form we can claim back 28p for every £1 your donation generates. It is very simple to do and does not cost you anything, but makes a huge difference to us as a charity.

Help the environment. Like many charity shops, ours are recycling hubs for your community. We sort donated goods into stock that we can sell and those that we can't are sold on for reprocessing. This often provides quality garments for people in Africa and other developing countries, who cannot afford new clothes.

We can also repair small broken electrical items to quality assured standards. By doing this we dispose of unwanted items that would otherwise end up in landfill sites, at additional cost to the Local Authorities.

It is estimated that the charity shop sector re-uses or recycles well over 250,000 tonnes of textiles each year, representing 30% of the total volume of textiles being recycled in the UK*.
